Associate membership

EALTHY Associate Membership are organisations with significant involvement in the provision of Medical English, whether it be through course delivery, publishing, research, or assessment.


On receipt of your fee you will receive your member number and password to access all Members Only material, a free subscription to Communication & Medicine, your discount codes from Channel View/Multilingual Matters and SLC, discounted registration for events, and access to our rapidly growing Members Area with teaching resources, videos and articles on all things English for Healthcare.

Annual Institutional membership gives:

*We need four names and email addresses to allow log-ins to access members only material. However, to give you and your school more flexibility, these memberships are transferable for events: any four employees can attend EALTHY events at members’ rates.

Associate Membership is reserved for organisations who share EALTHY’s commitment to quality and bring a wealth of professional expertise to the association and its members.

By becoming an Associate Member, an organisation commits to sharing its expertise with EALTHY members, for example by providing resources, access to research, sponsoring professional development events, exhibiting at the English for Healthcare conference, and offering discounted products and services.

Associate members can use the EALTHY logo on their website and on any products and services that have been approved by the association. Associate members are listed on the EALTHY website with links to their online pages.


Specialist Language Courses (SLC) is the UK’s leading publisher of digital Medical English courses, used by teachers and students around the world.

SLC publish market-leading online courses in English for medicine, nursing, pharmacy, radiography, medical terminology, grammar for healthcare, OET and IELTS preparation.

Banfield’s Professional Medical English (Alecia Banfield MBBS, MPH, TEFL/TESOL)

Developed by a medical and public health doctor and a certified TEFL/TESOL teacher, BPME courses evolved from first-hand experience in clinical and non-clinical healthcare settings, knowledge of adult second language acquisition, and review by academic curriculum developers. RefuAid was founded in 2015 in an effort to provide a practical response to forced migration for refugees and asylum-seekers living in the UK.

They provide sustainable and successful solutions to the three key barriers to access for refugees trying to restart their lives in the UK: finance and re-qualification, English language tuition and specialist employment advice.

RefuAid's English language programme focuses on supporting refugees with English language qualifications required for higher education and employment. They have provided support to hundreds of refugee doctors, nurses and pharmacists, enabling them to achieve the OET scores they need to work in the UK.


British Study Centres has been an education and training provider to people around the world since 1930. Our vision is to provide customers with stepping stones to their future by delivering outstanding and transformational learning opportunities.

Cambridge English Languages

The HELP2 project running under Erasmus+ offers thematic modules for English and German for healthcare, free to use.

The primary objectives of the Department of Languages for Biomedical Purposes and
Communication (LBPC) of the University of Pécs Medical School focus upon education
and research in the various fields of LBPC.

The scientific activities of the research groups range from the study of biomedical genre, discourse and conversation analysis, through LSP methodology, testing and translation to the sociolinguistic and intercultural aspects of doctor-patient communication.
Education activities focus on the teaching of medical and healthcare English, German,
Hungarian, as well as terminology.

The department also functions as the Center of the Professional Exams (PROFEX).
