Mohib described reasons why the RefuAid organization was created. He talked about the two main issues refugee and asylum seekers face when arriving in the UK. These are namely poor English skills, which prevents them from getting a job for which they are qualified, and the lack of financial resources for general living costs and for education.
RefuAid provides refugees and asylum seekers with all kinds of information and supports them financially with a loan. In cooperation with a network of partner language schools and volunteer teachers all over the UK, RefuAid offers preparatory language courses for IELTS or OET certificates. It also helps with enrolment at university and job applications. In 2021-2022, £1.5 million was distributed in loans to almost 500 students. 196 of them completed the language programme, including 58 doctors and 46 healthcare professionals were employed via the placement programme.
